Come Early! Park around Japantown!
Park in a FREE Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's (VTA) light rail park-and-ride parking lots. Ride VTA's Lightrail to the Japantown /Ayer station, walk one block north to Jackson Street, turn right and walk four blocks to San Jose Japantown.
The VTA has a free trip planningt service. Contact their customer service center, an Information Service Representative can provide you a free transit trip plan over the phone. They will ask a few questions about the destination and origination points, time of day that you want to travel, and they will provide the best resources (VTA bus routes and light rail) for the trip. They can tell you when to be at the bus stop and what it will cost to travel.
